Explore The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum with Johnny Mizner, Addison Mizner's pet monkey! Look for Johnny Mizner's picture among the exhibits throughout the Museum. He shares the story of Boca Raton with kids in mind.
Families receive FREE admission to the History Museum on the first Saturday of the month!
LIBRARY ADVENTURE MUSEUM PASS (LAMP)
Pick up a LAMP at your local Palm Beach County library for free admission to The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum. The LAMP provides free admission for two (2) students under 18 years old and one (1) accompanying adult during the months of June and July.
FREE FUN SATURDAY
A fun activity for kids under the direction of local artist/teacher Michelle Sherman starts at 2 pm. Celebrated for her watercolor paintings, acrylic paintings, portraits and commissions, Sherman’s most recent watercolor series is called Windows into Boca Raton. She promises her hands-on project for kids will be fun “and not too messy.”
KID GROUPS
Local Lore Badge for Girl Scouts
The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum offers several of the activities needed to earn the Local Lore badge. The unique experience will also demonstrate how today's technology is helping to preserve the past.
Minimum: 7
Leaders/Chaperones: 1 per 5 scouts
Time Length: 1.5 hours
Offered: Weekday afternoons
Cost: $5 per scout / $5 per adult over the 1 to 5 scout ratio
American Girl
The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum offers an opportunity to explore what everyday life was like in the Boca Raton area in the 1940s.
Minimum: 7
Leaders: 1 per 5 girls
Time Length: 1 hour
Offered: Weekday afternoons
Cost: $5 per girl / $5 per adult over the 1 to 5 ratio
