Sam Jones in the Seminole Wars: The Resistance Fighter in War and Peace 

Of Mikasuki heritage, Sam Jones was the most important war leader, military strategist, and resistance leader in Indian America, keeping the Florida Seminoles from being forcibly removed to Indian Territory beyond the Mississippi River by the United States Military, encompassing the Second and Third Seminole Wars, 1835-1858.
